April 2015 Goals

2 April 2015

So. Last month I warned (myself) that March would be a really busy month. And indeed it was. But you know what? I killed it!!

I just attended Making Things Happen, and one of the first exercises we do is to answer the question, “how are you feeling?” Instead of writing “stressed” or “frazzled,” I wrote “confident” and “empowered.” Basically, the last three weeks were a super-charged version of the life I want to live: spending time with family, spending time with friends, being outside, experiencing new things, doing really great work that I can be proud of, using our home as it was meant to be used, and honoring a wonderful friend. That’s the good stuff, my friends. The only thing that fell a bit to the wayside was blogging, which I’m sad about – but there’s always April!

Friends, I am astonished that I accomplished as much as I did from my March goal list
Touch up paint on our front door
Add a bench to our foyer
Frame and hang more art downstairs
Finish planning and host a really wonderful shower
Add cafe curtains in the dining room (nope)

Goals for April:
— Rehabilitate my passed-down luggage rack (I already bought the trim!)
— Build flower bed along our back fence
— Invite two friends to do things with us
— Buy an exercise ball for sitting on (sometimes) at work
— Set new daily habits and get back into the daily habit habit :)

If you’ve posted your goals somewhere, I’d love to see – or just drop them in the comments!

I am right there with you on living a super-charged version of the life you want to live, as March was that for me as well! It has been fun to see your travels and adventures on Instagram :) I posted my April goals here: http://www.kylamary.com/2015/04/april-goals/ and am super excited to take action on them!

I just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration to set daily habits for 2015. I set 5 goals for myself that I want to have included into my daily routine by the end of the year. It’s going great so far and I just love the idea! Thank you :) Happy Easter!

It sounds like your March has been chock full of goodness (and hard but rewarding work!)!! I also wanted to let you know that my whole small group decided to follow your 2015 goal of focusing on a Fruit of the Spirit each month – I’m slowly but surely corralling the group to be goal setters in some way ;) Thanks for the inspiration – I’m so excited to see how we all focus on love in the next month.

Oh, I just love this! I’m looking so forward to gaining inspiration from all the MTH recaps over the next few weeks, and to get a charge from all your positive energy! ;)

Good for you! That’s a great way to be feeling. Now, let’s see the bench and the artwork!

I’m Glad you had a great month! I only started making monthly goals last month, but it definitely kept me working on my goals, so I am going to keep it up. My April goals are to 1. Finish planning our June trip including purchasing any tickets in advance and reserving dinner spots maybe. 2. I want to buy one of those light up alarm clocks to help me break my snooze habit. 3. Finish the few wedding souvenir projects I have left (only two years after the actual wedding lol). 4. Begin posting England pictures on my blog. I am hopelessly behind and have a lot of great pictures to share since then. 5. Have a girls night. It has been a while. 6. Move silverware drawer in my kitchen to complete my reorganization of the kitchen. 7. Go through t-shirt drawer and donate unused and unneeded clothes. Actually take my donations in too, I’ve had a huge pile for a few months.

Exercise ball for work — I’ve got you covered! Love your goals. I’m working on a new flower bed this month too and planting summer bulbs. Happy April!

Emily, this post makes me so happy and gives me HOPE! As you’ll see from my April goals (http://www.wearetlk.com/tlkblog/2015/4/6/april-2015-goals) I accomplished a lot in March, but found myself feeling drained and overwhelmed at the end of it. I love seeing your testament to doing a lot but doing it well and with purpose. My big goal for April is to find myself at the end of the month energized and singing the same song you are singing after March! xoxox
