Wedding shoes!
Now that I have a wedding dress*, I can legitimately start thinking about accessories! Trust me, we will talk much more about jewelry and hair pretties down the line, but today, we’re going to talk about shoes.
FYI, here is what I consider the Big Momma of wedding shoes:
Both shots by Jose Villa
Perfection. However, since they are Louboutins, I clearly will not be wearing them on our wedding day.
That being said, the shoes I like tend to fall into two categories. Those with bows:
Top to bottom: Samm Blake via Style Me Pretty, Alexandra Daley-Clark, Sarah Rhoads, Katie Stoops via Southern Weddings, JAC Photography
…and those that are gold and glittery:
BHLDN and unknown
Keeping that in mind, and adding to it a budget of no more than $100 and a requirement of a low heel or a flat, here are a few options I found.
Sources: 1. Nina Paladin in white luster satin ($58); 2. Elle Japan (price unknown because the website is in Japanese!); 3. Nina Brooks in ivory luster satin ($90); 4. Nina Paladin in gold royal satin ($58); 5. Unforgettable Moments Nathalie in sea glass ($50); Fergalicious Abby in champagne ($40); 7. Nina Eterna in ivory luster satin ($99); 8. Nina Freja in ivory luster satin ($80)
I always thought I’d be a white shoe girl, but those gold flats and pale blue heels tug at my heart. However, I think my favorite pair overall is the Nina Paladin. I’m going to go ahead and order a pair to judge the comfort, but the question is, should I order them in the rose gold (no. 4) or the soft white (no. 1)? Feel free to weigh in in the comments!
P.S. Thinking of ordering your own pair of Ninas? I just saw on their website that if you sign up for their email list, you get 20% off your next order!
*Yes, I have a wedding dress!! I’m not planning to share it before the wedding, but I will share more about my search very soon!
Go for the ROSE!!!! So cute : ) I LOVE no. 2, too. Swoon. (ps- are you finding that any adorable shoe/skirt/product found on Pinterest keeps selling out?! Driving me nuts)
The rose gold shoes are gorgeous, but from following your wedding planning on Southern Weddings, you seem like such an elegant, classic bride, so I love the white for you! But really, you can’t go wrong :)
White wedding shoes personally make me queasy. I say go for the rose gold.
I vote for the rose, even if I’m not all about those ones :)
Em, may I point out (like you don’t already know ;) that #2 and 6 have both glitter and bows? So, perfect! 2’s my favorite. I bet there’s something from an American company like that.
As for the Nina’s, I say Rose. It’s pretty and a sweet color, not too much color though. The thing I’ve liked the best about not having white wedding shoes is I’ve worn them many times since, and I love the idea that I’m wearing my “wedding shoes” – it brings back memories and makes it feel special. Rose would be pretty to wear the spring after your big day.
Ooh! I vote for # 2 AND # 7!!
Oh, this brings back great memories! Emily, you couldn’t go wrong with any of the above, of that I’m certain. I usually have an opinion, but this time I’m supportive of each of these choices. I will add though, I’m glad I bought reasonably priced wedding shoes. After walking in the grass for photos, etc. my ivory wedding shoes (much like the Nina Paladin shoes, above) were grass-stained…gives them character but makes me a little sad ;)
I’m a fan of color, so I’ll throw in my vote for the rose gold Ninas or the Elle Japan. Also, the coveted Louboutins may not be out of reach! I bought a pair (new) for my wedding on ebay for just under $300 and sold them after the big day for $250! Not bad! However, the heels are sky-high (typically 5″), so probably does not meet your requirements in that dept. Good luck!
I love the rose gold! Will they go with the rest of your wedding party color palette? Otherwise, the soft white is lovely and should match just about anything.
Your token male wedding opinion: I assume you wouldn’t even be considering the rose if it didn’t perfectly complement the other colors you’re considering for bridesmaids’ dresses, etc., but you know me – I may have graduated from khakis and monochrome t-shirts, but I’ll never stray too far. I vote soft white.
Honestly, though, it’s a beautiful shoe either way, and I know your entire ensemble is going to be gorgeous.
My fave is #2. Those bows are adorable and will photograph well too :)
Absolutely love the classiness of the Nina Paladin…in White. Nina shoes are so comfortable, at least they have been for me!
#2 for sure. Love the soft texture of the bow.
Emily, I don’t have a preference (they’re all so pretty!) but I’m sending you lots of good shoe-selecting vibes! Also, did I see Mike give his opinion above? Too funny!
Love 1, 8, and 6…
Hate 5
Uncommitted on the rest. :)
Love YOU, though.
While I think #2 is adorable (and love sparkly shoes), I think #3 looks the most like you (really any of the Nina shoes). Classic and elegant.
I like 2 and 6. I also concur with those who are saying to not get the white because then it’s easier to wear them again – I quite enjoy wearing my (non-white) wedding shoes!
Definitely gold. I own those sweet Nina shoes in a sandish color and I LOVE them. Echo agreement in comfort levels of Nina shoes. (*I recommend wearing them around the house a few times to break them in before the BIG day. Make sure they are extra comfy.). Happy shopping.
I’m wearing these as MOH for my sister’s wedding in August. They fulfill your need for both bows and a little sparkle. They are absolutely gorgeous :)

Thank you so much for the suggestion, Anna! Those are so cute!
