December 2014 Goals

2 December 2014

decorating-for-christmas

It does my heart good to see our home all dressed up for Christmas… I don’t think it’s ever looked finer, especially with that handsome deer back at his post. I am excited for this month, for all the beauty and goodness and hope and joy that December brings. I want to enjoy it fully, and finish it out by planning for a truly marvelous 2015. I’m so glad we’re in this together!

I managed to check off all of my November goals except for organizing a neighborhood luminaria night, which I feel kind of bad about… I think the idea was intimidating to me, so I just kept putting off taking the steps to make it happen. But, friends, there’s always next year – and thankfully I have a few more to go before I’m 30!!

Goals for December:
— Set our budget for 2015
— Make homemade toffee
— Purchase a new Bible that I really love and decide on a year-long reading plan with John
— Send out our Christmas cards with a personal note on each
— Think ahead and be intentional about planning a really wonderful Christmas at our home for (most of) my family
— Dream and plan for what my goals will look like in the new year, considering my ongoing 60 Before 30 project
Give away as much as we spend on Christmas gifts in our church’s Christmas Eve offering (this year going to Imagine No Malaria)

I would love to hear what you all have planned for this month!

You’re home looks so lovely!! I adore the little deer outside! :) I’m planning on cozying up after finals with hot chocolate and Hallmark movies. :)

Your deer is adorable and festive! Some of my goals for December include spending time with God each morning, accomplishing a savings goal that I set for myself this month, and intentionally taking time to enjoy this season because Christmastime is my favorite :)

Lovely! Looking forward to spending December being intentional and can’t wait for my husband and I to head home to NC and spend time with our families.

I need to sit down and finish my 30 Before 30 list…I have less than 2 years to go. Yikes.

Em, LOVE your idea to give as much as you spend on Christmas gifts. That is beautiful. I have some of the same and similar goals as you this month! Cheers to a beautiful Christmas season focused on what matters most. :)

Such great goals! I’m excited to see what you all decide on for a Bible reading plan! And I love the personal note on each Christmas card- will definitely have to do that!

Seeing this photo the other day made me so happy – your house looks absolutely adorable! I can’t wait for more glimpses of holiday cheer around your home, and how exciting that most of your family is celebrating Christmas in NC with you and John! Happy December!

You inspired me to create goals for myself this December. Life has gotten a little of track, or even started a new one. But I hope these will focus me. Read them here: http://piecesofpasson.wordpress.com/2014/12/02/december-2014-goals/.

I am always so inspired by your giving goal vs. money spent on presents!

I’d love to hear what reading plan you decide on. That is something I would like to do next year as well.
