Fall clothing favorites
The weather has been just a tad bit cooler here the past few days, which has me thinking ahead to my fall wardrobe! Normally I wouldn’t switch things up too much, but I think I’ll need some different pieces due to a changing shape over the next few months. For right now, the plan is to supplement with drape-y, longer tops that can be worn over leggings (not something I currently have a lot of). I also bought a belly band and wore it for the first time today, so hopefully that will stay me for awhile with my current pants. Here are a few of the pieces that have caught my eye:
First row: heather gray hi-lo tee ($17), striped cardigan sweater ($25), and tab sleeve tunic ($42)
Second row: Monaco blouse ($69) and lace-trim top ($31)
Third row: striped sweater dress ($54), Poet blouse ($25), and high/low cardigan ($54)
Any recommendations along this line, friends? I’m all ears!
I have that striped cardigan sweater and it is REALLY soft–highly recommend! :)
I have been struggling with the maternity wardrobe – mostly because it’s summer and I live in SoCal. I like the belly band in theory, but for warmer weather have found it sweaty and uncomfortable. And it’s tough to use once I got a bit bigger. I have found long loose tops and dresses most comfortable. The dresses have been great cause there are no restricting/ uncomfortable waistbands to worry about. Even some leggings have been tough – I might break down and buy actual maternity leggings to gain a more comfortable waistband/ belly option.
Also, Maternity section at Loft is hit or miss BUT they often have crazy sales like 40% – 60% off. I scored a pair of quality maternity jeans regularly $70 for $15! Now if only it would get cool enough outside so that I could wear them…
Good Luck!!
I’m in love with the teal green shades you’ve picked. The tunic in the first row is such a “me” piece of clothing. I must have it!
Obsessed with the Monaco top! I just heard a great rec on the asos brand of maternity jeans! (who also has a crazy sale, including maternity). I’ve been fortunate to avoid “maternity” clothes so far and found some flowy normal options at Old Navy for the time up until now (25 weeks). My belly has recently just popped within the last week, and I’m at the end of my rope with the belly band working–just in time to retire my white jeans, I suppose, with labor day coming up! I was happy to not have to purchase white maternity jeans because they’re a summer staple for me, so the belly band was great to have! Maxi dresses & wrap dresses are amazing, and I’m planning to pair with jackets or cardigans/blazers for cooler temps. My mom was sweet to get me a few maternity basics from target-just some tanks and tees (as my normal ones are suddenly not long enough), but layering is great with them or mixing up the accessories for some variation. I’m all about comfy options right now, but I do need to dress up a little for work and some of my blouses are just not cutting it anymore! Luckily, too, elastic waist band pants are in style–and you can find some cute ones at J.Crew (usually on sale) that will work post partum, too. Someone told me that StitchFix has maternity. There are a few good rental spots online, too- http://www.instyle.com/news/maternity-wear-rental-sites. And lastly, I keep hearing to purchase maternity & nursing friendly tops or dresses so the piece will extend after baby–this site has great options- http://www.jojomamanbebe.com :) because when you nurse, you need easy access! Pretty sure my wardrobe after baby will be nursing tanks, open sweater cardigans, and leggings!
