Jackie + George’s Wedding
John and I are coming up on our second anniversary (September 15!) which means our dear friends Jackie and George just celebrated their first anniversary (September 7!). I shared a little bit about their wedding right after it happened last year, and you may also recall the inspiration board I put together for Jackie back in January 2013. I thought you might like to see how everything came together, and of course, the photos from Bryce Covey are too good not to share! I’m pretty proud of that photographer recommendation – he’s blown up since 2012! :)
Yes, Jackie is one of the cutest people in the world. We’ll just get that out of the way right off the bat. Is she not a modern day Audrey Hepburn?
This sweet groomsmen photo was one of my favorites!
John and I had the honor of reading at the ceremony, and we were so happy to do it! I might be getting mixed up, but I’m pretty sure I remember Jackie telling us that the only time she cried at the ceremony was during our reading (aww!!). This is only fitting, because when she read at our ceremony, she got choked up right at the end, which made me start sniffling, too.
The cocktail hour and reception were at George’s parents house, and let me tell you, there are few things I love more than an at-home wedding – and one with a Sperry tent, to boot! His mom’s collection of vintage floral linens was used on the cocktail tables, a detail I loved.
Sliders! Pigs in a blanket! Pizza! The food was totally up my alley.
John and I had the pleasure of being the only two guests that got to be in both the high school and college photos. That’s the high school group on the left! I’m going to give a little shout out to Amelia and Jeremy here because I’m guessing they are reading :)
Jackie is one of the kindest, smartest, most compassionate, funniest, and all-around loveliest people I know. I’m so grateful to have the privilege of doing life with her, and so very happy that she found her great love. Here’s to many more September anniversaries!
Any questions on sources for this lovely New York wedding, just leave them in the comments and I will try to answer them (or Jackie will – she is one of my most loyal, and favorite, readers!).
Oh my goodness, how absolutely lovely! She is a gorgeous bride, and that shot inside of their tent is magical!!
The picture of Jackie’s father looking at her as they are walking down the aisle is so heartwarming. These pictures are beautiful snippets of their special day!
Looks like the perfect wedding to me. I love the color palette, flowers, and that tent! It looks like a round one to me. His parents house is the perfect backdrop, too! Oh, and that menu is right up my alley as well!
Love seeing these details of sweet Jackie’s wedding! I’ve been scouring your inspiration boards, Em, for a dear friend in the planning process. You have created so many beautiful wedding boards over the years! So neat to see the one you made for Jackie come to fruition. xo
Emily, thank you so much for this sweet post! You were such a help with planning, from the inspiration board to the photographer. It was an honor to have you and John as readers, and you are right that you choked me up! Which we could have expected, since I was crying during your senior year poetry reading…I’m such a sap ;) Lots of love to you and John as you are coming up on your 2nd anniversary! P.S. As you said, I am happy to answer any questions about the wedding & vendors.
Emily – this is incredible. Thank you so much for everything! I loved reading this post and seeing all of these beautiful photos :) We’re so glad to have shared this day with you and John! Hope to see you both soon.
Emily,
What a wonderful post! A beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple, both inside and out. Thank you for sharing and bringing a smile to my day.
Shout out acknowledged. =)
Nice post. Jackie’s wedding, along with yours, were definitely two of the most awesome weddings I’ve been lucky enough to attend. The hors d’oeuvres were fantastic – can’t go wrong with pigs in a blanket.
What a nice write up of an amazing wedding! Can’t believe it was a year ago! Now where did you get those chalkboards? They are just perfect! :)
How fun to see this post, just a few weeks after running into the lovely couple on the street in our shared neighborhood! So nice to see images of the event!
