I am LOVING purple lately, which is kind of strange, as I don’t really consider myself a purple person. (In fact, I’ve only posted ONE other purple inspiration board to date: it’s here, in case you’re wondering!) Plum and dark chocolate, with a hint of sage and peachy pink to lighten things up, is such a gorgeous palette for fall, though, don’t you think? I’m also quite taken with the dimension and texture the halved figs and blackberry cluster centerpieces bring to this board.

We had a little hint of fall going there for awhile, but now (at least in NC!) it’s back to the mid-80’s for the rest of the week. Oh well… true apple cider and pumpkin picking weather will come soon enough, I suppose. Until then, a fall inspiration board to tide you over!

It’s nice to have inspiration boards back, isn’t it? This one is for my girl Katharine, who’s getting married on Saturday! I am thrilled and honored to be standing next to her as a bridesmaid. She’s a classic kind of gal, and her wedding is going to be black and white and beautiful all over. Though it won’t look much like today’s board, I’m dedicating it to her, anyway. Want to see what her wedding will look like? Check out this post that I made as inspiration for Miss Katharine last August!

Isn’t this the most lovely shade of green? I’m picturing a little wedding garden party, with just a few family and friends under the new leaves in the first few weeks of spring. A small guest list gives you the latitude to whip up some neat details, like cucumber sandwiches that double as art, custom boxes of popcorn, a short, embellished white dress, and a perfectly crosshatched cake (sized for a small soiree, of course).
