Green apple green adds just the right pop to an otherwise classic black and white palette. Details I’m loving in this board include the centerpieces of apple “topiaries” piled on vintage glass and milk glass cake stands and the bride’s snappy heels. I could see this board translated into either a spring wedding – the green lends itself perfectly to that season, and the apples would be complemented nicely with fresh grass centerpieces – or a fall wedding, if you’re looking for something different than the usual brown, red, and orange scheme.
Mood: fun, fresh, classic

I’m a huge fan of J. Crew. I’m also a huge fan of reading magazines, tearing things out of them, and squirreling my finds away in an elaborate filing system. {Seriously – the carrying case I keep my stuffed manila folders in must weigh 10 pounds!} But that’s a story for another time.
Today I’d like to share with you some of my favorite fall inspirations ripped from the pages of J. Crew catalogs from the last three years or so. Even though many of the exact products aren’t available anymore, I hope you’ll be inspired nonetheless.

As you can see, I love J. Crew jackets. Though their prices are usually hard to swallow, I think the jackets – with their unique tailoring and dreamy, impossible-to-find-elsewhere colors – could be worth the price. I’m also loving the layering (of both colors and textures), the trim shirts tucked into full skirts, and the mixed prints (i.e. floral under argyle and topped by tweed). Somehow, it works.
Check back tomorrow for some of my favorite (current!) items, but in the meantime…
What’s your favorite J. Crew fall trend?
