Since I think this is quite possibly literally the cutest bridal shower idea I’ve EVER seen, I obviously have to share. Dawn, the shower host, asked each guest to paint a tin can during shower craft time.
Great work, no? Months later, the tin cans were tied on to the bride and groom’s “getaway bike” at the end of their reception! Here’s a photo of the lovelies in action on the big day:
I LOVE this idea! First, I think it would be such a fun shower activity, and second, I adore the sentiment of incorporating a piece of so many special women into your wedding!
You can read more about the planning of the shower from Dawn, the mastermind behind everything, here. You can also see more photos on the bride’s blog here. Lastly, if you’d like to see more photos from the actual wedding, click here and here!
All photos in this post by Ali Harper (the bride), except for the last one, which was taken by Jill Thomas.

Came across this nifty little piece of art in my searches the other day. I’ve been looking for something to go over my bed, and this might be just the thing! The only downside? It’s priced at $300 at Marmalade, which is a bit out of my budget (expensive or not, they have a few other neat options, too!).
Happily, I think this might be a doable DIY — I’d just need a thick, smooth piece of wood (this one is 36 inches by 36 inches), some cream paint, some black paint, and a stencil set. I’ll let you know if I make an attempt!

The Ribbonerie bills itself as “the ultimate ribbon store,” and I have to say, I think I agree. They’re based in San Francisco, and any of you lucky enough to live nearby should make a visit immediately. Happily, they will sell you ribbon over the phone if you don’t. I was on a mad hunt for coral ribbon for a Peach & Pearl project and was coming up empty-handed in my usual haunts. Then I saw these color options:
And that’s just for satin ribbon. Hallelujah! The ordering process was quick and easy, and I would highly recommend! What’s your favorite ribbon source?
