101 in 1001: March 2012

5 March 2012

Oh goodness, y’all. I didn’t complete ANY of my February goals. That’s a bit embarrassing, but I’m committed to being honest here, so there it is.

To recap, these were my goals:

– Finish the biography of John Adams I’m reading (for no. 61)
– Print out a favorite poem and commit to reading it every night as I brush my teeth (for no. 56)
– Design and print Em for Marvelous return address labels for Etsy store (for no. 76)
– Order my Warby Parker glasses now that I’ve returned my try on pairs (for no. 95)

I’ve been steadily working my way through John Adams, but it’s 752 pages! Yeesh. I almost ordered my glasses, but then I realized I need a glasses prescription (not a contacts prescription) from my eye doctor, which I’m still working on getting.

On to March goals! We are having several sets of house guests this month, so I want to be pretty conservative with my goal setting. In March, I plan to:

— Finish the biography of John Adams (for no. 61)
— Make a Basket of Hope through my church for Easter (for no. 3)*
— Order my glasses! (for no. 95)

If you’ve posted about your March goals, post a comment below – I’d love to check them out!

*Last year my church put together more than 1,100 of these special Easter baskets. This year, we have 1,300 basket requests. If you live in the Triangle area and would like to put together a basket, I would be happy to connect you/deliver your basket/etc. Just email me!

Spring Fling

1 March 2012

Friends, it is forecasted to be 80 degrees here today. 80 degrees!! That sort of weather calls for zipping right past pastels into bright spring finds.

Oh yes, wouldn’t it be nice to have one’s own cabana? Alas, I would have to pop this pretty pillow on my couch, but I think it would still look nice :) I did some serious high and low mixing with this collection, as you’ll see below — I hope you enjoy!

CORAL STRIPED DRESS: $14.50 // EMERALD BATHING SUIT TOP + BOTTOM: $35.98 (I just bought this and it’s the prettiest color in person!) // TORTOISESHELL SUNGLASSES: $128 // MADRAS CLUTCH: $95 // PEACOCK PILLOW: $78 // NEON SANDALS: $13 // CRIMSON LIP BALM: $20

P.S. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes!! I had a great day :)

Here’s to 25

28 February 2012

It’s the year I will throw more dinner parties.
It’s the year I will grow closer to God.
It’s the year I will get outside more.
It’s the year I will save more and give away more.
It’s the year I will marry my best friend, the love of my life.

It’s going to be a good year :)

Colorful Cocktail Napkins

27 February 2012

How’s this for a bright and cheery post?

Yahoo! I’m on the hunt for some colorful paper goods for an upcoming soiree, and stumbled across the Mara Mi line at my local Target last week. So cute! Have any of you seen it? I picked up the pin dot green cocktail napkins pictured above, plus napkins with a fabulous aqua dot pattern that I couldn’t find on the website. My new finds inspired this post and sent me on the hunt for other cuties. The napkins shown above came from Target, Kate’s Paperie, Shop Sweet Lulu, The Paper Cottage, Lifeguard Press, and Caspari.
