Paper Picks 2012: Mr. Boddington’s Studio

11 June 2012

As some of you know, I was lucky enough to attend to the 2012 National Stationery Show in NYC a little while ago (part of my crazy week!). I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite sights from the show, so this week I’ll be sharing my top five favorite paper picks!

Today’s pick is the new marriage certificates from Mr. Boddington’s Studio. The colorful design is super fun but still sophisticated. Better yet, because the calligraphy is hand-drawn but pre-printed (except for the personal details), they’re able to be really reasonably priced – just $30! I would totally snap one of these up for a wedding keepsake if I hadn’t already made our own marriage certificate. Pick one up here!

Our engagement photos!

7 June 2012

Hello, lovely friends! More than a month ago I shared some of our engagement photo inspiration, and I asked for your input on outfits and a location. Well, we figured all those details out, we had a fantastic time shooting with Gina Zeidler (she was amazing, and totally put John at ease – he loved her!), and now, we have these photos to treasure forever! Behold, a few of our absolute favorites:

We are so, so, SO happy with our photos and think Gina did an amazing job!!

For those who might be wondering, we ended up taking our photos at the North Carolina Museum of Art’s art park. It’s one of our favorite places in the area, and one we love taking out-of-town visitors to.

What do you think? I would love to hear which photo is your favorite, as we’re trying to decide which one to frame for our wall!

P.S. THIS is how I feel about marrying this guy!

Cupcake flags + donuts!

6 June 2012

I’ve been kept super busy with Etsy orders lately, which is awesome (14 more orders to go until I can check off no. 72 on my 101 in 1001 list – whoo!), but means I don’t have as much time to write here as I’d like! While I keep my fingers flying tying off drink stirrers and coloring in flags, I thought you might enjoy seeing where this recent order ended up. Jordan stuck her cupcake flags in Krispy Kremes at her wedding – so cute! :)

Lot 190 + blue doors

31 May 2012

Photographer Ali Harper and her husband are building their “forever home” at Serenbe, and they’re chronicling the building process on a tumblr, Lot 190. In addition to her stunning photography skills, Ali clearly has an impeccable aesthetic, and I’ve loved following along as they make decisions. Above is their gorgeous blue front door, one of my favorite details. According to Ali, the color is “Watery” by Sherwin-Williams.

Do you love blue doors, too? Here are a few of my other favorites:

This one is painted “Number 10” by Dulux Days by Dulux (I think it’s an Australian company).

This one is “Cool Jazz” by Behr (photo by Norman Pogson via This Old House).

This one is “Wythe Blue” by Benjamin Moore (a very popular color). Photo by Hiya Papaya via House of Turquoise.

So pretty!
