Seth and Marget are getting married!

13 July 2012

My third wedding in three weeks will take place this weekend, and it will be the union of these two stunningly attractive, delightfully creative, and wonderfully kind people. I can’t wait to add them to my family!

P.S. Also already can’t wait to see what I’m sure will be stunning photos from Katie and an awesome video from McKenzie. They did a superb job choosing vendors!

Oilcloth project possibilities

12 July 2012

Don’t you just love when something lives up to your expectations? I’d been eying a store – On Board Fabrics – for years, every time we drove past it on our way to and from our cottage in Maine. It’s housed in an old barn, and it looked so cute from the outside! This past week we finally stopped, and I’m so happy we did.

I was tempted by many different patterns, but I walked out with just a yard and a half of the adorable oilcloth above. Isn’t it awesome?? Now to decide what to do with it. I’m thinking placemats or perhaps an outdoor tablecloth, but am open to your suggestions. I’ve also done a little project scouting, in case any of y’all have some oilcloth on your hands!

Wedding day emergency kit

10 July 2012

Hello, friends! I’ve had a whirlwind two weeks! (I feel as though I’ve been saying that a lot lately…) I can’t wait to tell you all about my adventures – a wedding in Maine, my bachelorette, my bridal shower, a wedding in Newport, another week in Maine – but right now I’m focusing on the final big event in the near future – John’s sister’s wedding! It’s just five days away, and we’re all bursting with excitement. Fingers crossed for great weather on Sunday!!

While I get my thoughts and photos organized, I did want to share with you a post I’ve been working on for quite some time. It’s my take on the wedding day prep kit. I think it’s a great idea for every gal to have one with her on her wedding day – if you’ve hired a wedding planner/coordinator, it’s almost certain she’ll bring one with her, but if not, it’s probably something you should compile yourself. I know I’ll be bringing mine with me on Sunday!

Solid perfume | pain reliever | wipes | snacks (perfect for post-portraits, pre-ceremony) | water bottles | blotting film | bandaids | bobby pins | a lint roller | deodorant | safety pins | white chalk (for coloring over small stains on white fabric, like a wedding gown!) | a travel sewing kit | corsage pins | clear nail polish (for stalling snags) | travel tissue packs | a nice pen (for signing cards or a marriage license, or supplementing the guest book) | mints (not gum) | shout to go wipes | fashion tape

Would you add anything to this kit?
