Simplicity is the name of the game around here right now. The more I have on my to do list, the more I attempt to tackle during my little pockets of nap time throughout the day, and the more easily I get frustrated when those pockets don’t feel long enough. Right now my priority is to take care of June, and I want to do that well. That means weeding out what I’m not passionate about, what doesn’t matter, what adds clutters, and what sucks time, and adding things that tend to myself and my family. I tried to reflect that in this month’s goals, and hopefully I’ll notice the fruit over the next few weeks! With my girl on Valentine’s Day! Revisiting my goals for February: Take two classes on Skillshare Find a new rhythm once John returns to work (I guess? This has been more challenging than I expected.) Begin our will Resume our monthly tennis dates with Sam + Graham (A last-minute change bumped this to March!) Go to Ash Wednesday service Read “His Needs Her Needs” for NR book club (just a few pages left so I am calling this good!) Hang art in June’s nursery (still nothing hung, but we did make progress!) Invite friends to dinner to celebrate my birthday! March goals: — Bring a thank you gift to the post-partum nurses’ station at the hospital where I delivered — Read “Practicing the Presence of God” for NR Book Club — Work push-ups and sit-ups back into my daily routine — Start running again — Print a 2016 downtown restaurant bucket list (more on this to come!) — Read “Jesus Calling” every day — Clean up “that corner” of our bedroom that has been taken over by June stuff — Hang art and shelving

Hello, friends! I am 28! I kept saying to John last week, I need to write something for the blog about my birthday! I’ve done so in the past (here and here, for example), and it seems right to mark the occasion somehow. But this year… I don’t know! There just wasn’t anything I wanted to say. So I didn’t. My really, really wonderful coworker friends wrote this for me, and it made me tear up. John and I started Saturday with brunch at Monuts, ate a “lunch” of gelato at Whole Foods, and finished the day with pimento cheese and macaroni au gratin (and a few leafier things) at Poole’s Diner. (Best macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had, hands down.) We ended the evening by re-watching the fourth Harry Potter movie while snuggled on the couch with our two furry friends. Sleeping friends from earlier in the week… And now it’s on to another year and another month of goals – and a very busy one at that. My March will include: one five-night trip to New York City, one speaking engagement (nervous nervous nervous), one two-night camping trip, one four-night trip to Texas, hosting one baby shower, and one two-day conference at work. Whew!! With all that in mind, I’m trying to keep everything else low key. Goals for March: — Touch up paint on our front door (hold-over from February!) — Add a bench to our foyer — Frame and hang more art downstairs — Add cafe curtains in the dining room — Finish planning and host a really wonderful shower! Despite wanting to stay low key I feel like these goals are VERY ambitious for this month of travel, so we will see how well I do! If you’ve posted your goals somewhere, I’d love to

Oh my, March. You started out with a gorgeous 70 degree day yesterday, but today’s low is supposed to be 18!! I’m hoping you have much more of the former rather than the latter in store for us in the coming weeks… In addition to the garlands I made for some faraway friends, I made raspberry whoopie pie valentines for my coworkers! To recap, my February goals: Finalize “Before 30″ list and post. Here! Thank you so much for your comments! I’ve already checked off three items!! Celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends and husband. Check! Plan something fun with CT friends in the Triangle. Yes! We have dinner plans for next weekend. Work on guest accommodations before March visitors. Yes! Lots of progress here. Fabric for curtains was ordered, arrived, and delivered to the seamstress. We (unexpectedly, but you have to strike when the opportunity arises!) bought a bed frame at the flea market on Saturday, so I’m hoping to have that refurbished before they arrive! And we assembled our twin spindle bed and bought a mattress for it. Plant jasmine around mailbox Yes! March goals: — Practice new calligraphy techniques (picked up from my time with Lauren!) — Plant peony in backyard, as long as danger of frost passes — Plan a really happy trip to NC for two dear friends and their gents — Set an appointment with an allergist — Help launch a new service/community at our church – First on Chatham! If you’re interested, we meet at The Cary at 9:45! — Plant the first round in our vegetable beds What do you have planned for this month? February was such a good month — I was able to share our wedding from start to finish with you all, and we capped things off with my birthday yesterday. Thank you again for the well wishes! Ryan Ray I did pretty well with my February goals despite a busier than anticipated month — I got to everything but the Valentine’s Day packages, though I will admit I ticked off several last night! Just in the nick of time. This month, I will: — Photograph our apartment to share on EFM — Read another biography (for no. 61) — Investigate eBates, and possibly sign up — Finish the Gospel of John (reading along with COR) — Decorate some eggies for Easter You can see all of my 101 in 1001 goals here and my 2013 daily goals here. If you’d like to share your goals for March, I’d love for you to either list them in the comments or leave a link, and I promise I’ll check them out!
