I never really remember Uniqlo as a good source for clothes (probably because I’ve never seen one of their stores in real life), but they have some chic offerings. Some bold, chunky jewelry in punchy red or teal would look great with these neutrals, non?

Coveting these J.Press bowties {for J, obvs, not me}. It’s a good thing they’re sold out, though, as $50 is a bit out of my budget. Which one’s your favorite? I think I’m leaning towards no. 1.

…cowboy boots. One of my besties rocked a pair last weekend with a black knit dress, a leopard print scarf, and gold hoop earrings {she’s cool like that} and ever since I’ve wanted a pair of my own. I’m looking for ones that are really beat up and not that weird red color – dark brown or a deep buttery tan for me, thank you! I would wear them with dark skinny jeans, pearls, sundresses, and french braids {but not all at the same time}.
I’ll give you the links, but don’t steal the pair I want, okay? Starting from the top left…

Just saw Valentino: The Last Emperor with a few friends and loved it. Near the beginning of the movie he’s quoted as saying “I love beauty… it’s not my fault.” Appropriate, since this is really what the rest of the movie is all about – his absolute focus on beauty and aesthetics and his unwillingness to allow anything else into his life. It’s extravagant and funny and touching, and the behind-the-scenes glimpses of the sweat that goes into couture fashion – everything sewn by hand, a head seamstress who has worked with him for more than 30 years – are quite beautiful in their own way.
