Fall to do list
I’ve made fall to do lists for the past three years, and 2013 is no exception! My general goal in life is to enjoy each season as it’s upon us, and these lists help me do just that. John and I kicked things off yesterday (the first official day of fall!) with a visit to Millstone Creek Orchard to pick apples, so we’re off to a good start with this year’s list!
— Pick apples
— Make apple cider donuts
— Go to the State Fair
— Cheer at a high school football game under the lights
— Decorate our front steps with pumpkins and mums
— Order Christmas cards
— Try Monuts Donuts (yes, two of my “to dos” involve donuts)
— Invite friends over for a soup night
— Deck our mantel with something fall-y
— Make pumpkin chocolate chip muffins
— Hike somewhere with beautiful leaves
— Hand out candy to our first-ever trick or treaters!!
What are you hoping to enjoy before December 1st? To me, that’s when winter begins :)
I love your idea of a soup night!:) Soup is one of the best things about Fall!
In my mind, it just doesn’t feel like fall until I go to the fair and buy kettle corn!
I was thinking of you on Saturday because my friend invited me to go hiking. I kept thinking it was such an Emily Ayer thing to do. : ) Happy fall, friend! PS: A soup night sounds like so much fun!
^ Emily THOMAS! So sorry!
I’m going apple picking (for the first time!) this weekend, so hopefully they’re still on the trees! I make an annual Fall to-do list, and mine for this year is here: http://stephseekingjoy.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/fall-to-do-list/
Monuts Donuts = amaze!! You’ll LOVE them! And I love your fall list! We’re headed to Asheville this weekend so I hope we have a peak at the leaves and I just visited the Farmer’s Market on Saturday for mums!! Hooray! I LOVE fall! <3
Yes, Yes, Yes! I, too, LOVE celebrating the seasons. This list is wonderful. Maybe I’ve jumped the gun, but on the second day of fall, our porch has mums, pumpkins, and a hay bale, I spent yesterday browsing Christmas cards while the Minted sale is still on, and this morning I pulled two loaves of pumpkin bread from the oven! Great minds think alike! :)
#falldoins! I love them all! Along with many of these fun things, I’m also planning to carve a pumpkin (not sure how I’ve never done it before!) and decorate my mantle for fall since this is the first time I’ve ever had a mantle. :)
Ah, fall — my favorite season. And my favorite “month”: September 15 to October 15.
nice new pic! And, a good list!
