Christmas cards 2012
Thank you again for all of your help choosing our Christmas cards! As usual, y’all were divided on which design was best, but option no. 1 came out on top in the voting.
As much as I loved the sentiment of option one, I thought the type treatment competed with the image we had chosen. (The detail of the bouquet made the text a bit hard to read.) Same problem with number three. We decided to table those for another year, and instead went with a design with no danger of that problem!
Of course, I think any Minted design would have looked beautiful with Tanja’s gorgeous images! We feel so lucky to have worked with her.
And here’s our inaugural newsletter! I laid it out in Illustrator, had it printed at Fedex Kinko’s, and owe much inspiration to Amanda Jane Jones.
Finally, I addressed each envelope to our nearest and dearest…
…including one for y’all!
Have you sent out cards yet?
Love who you addressed the envelope to!! One of my favorite movie families!! We’re sending Happy New Year cards this year – a bit earlier than previous year’s Valentine’s cards or the year we sent St. Patrick’s Day cards!
Love the decision, Em! Everything looks beautiful!
The cards you picked look perfect–as all of them did, really! And I am a little bit obsessed with your darling newsletter–what a creative way to share the highlights from the year!
Absolutely love it! The timeline is so adorable (by the way, 21 guests in one year on top of a wedding is insane!)! & the wasi tape is such a cute touch! Your penmanship on the envelopes is just darling
Merry Christmas to you & John!!
Hello again Em. Your holiday card and newsletter are just darling! Thank you for sharing with us blog readers. I’m a big fan of the “Est. XXXX” concept and it must have been so fun to put a date to it and start the lovely count upwards! Merry Christmas.
Y’all are so sweet! Thank you so much!!
No, but I did send an edited version of Mom’s draft back to her!
Love it! So pretty! Y’alls wedding photos are so stunning though, can’t.get.over.it! We sent our cards out on Wednesday and went with the “It’s a Wonderful Life”.. (We skimped and did the postcard option because of the price and all the business we gave the USPS this year!) Happy Christmas to you and yours!
Em!! Love the card, especially the stats. 21 visitors is a LOT! And I love that you took up calligraphy.
[…] have room to include all the examples that I found, but I also loved these from October Ink, Em for Marvelous, and Honeysuckle Blog. You can also check out my stationery board for more […]
Found your marvelous blog! Love it! We have a lot in common and I love your style. Saw you visited Boothbay Harbor last year — my husband’s hometown. I am a calligrapher and also love anything wedding related but especially the paper details and photography as I am also a photographer. Enjoying your blog! May have to try out a version of this for our newsletter this year! Your calligraphy looks great!
P.S. My initials are EM! :-)
Do you have your newsletter in a modifiable version? LOVE it and would love to use it to give details about our first year with our twins.
@Chrissy Unfortunately, no! It’s so highly individualized that I think it’d be hard to do :(
[…] P.S. Our cards from 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012! […]
