To be honest, I wasn’t feeling too jazzed about some of the boards I’d whipped up at the end of 2009. Pretty? Yes. But nothing that really made me proud. But this one! This one! I think I’m in love. The color palette bears some resemblance to my favorite wedding of all time, but in a bit more glittery, wintery way. I also love how ladylike this board is — the frilly cake, the shades of pink and blue, the antique handkerchief ring pillows, the pink champagne. On second thought, maybe this would be better for a bridal shower…

Like last week’s aqua and kelly inspiration board, I thought this week’s sky and cherry palette was a nice twist on red and green. A little red party dress, some brightly hued ribbon candy, and, of course, the Lenox Chirp dinnerware that inspired it all. Isn’t it amazing? I would really, really love to have just a few pieces of that pattern, but alas, it is obscenely expensive. Le sigh. They do, however, have some Chirp ornaments right now that are also beautiful.

A day late, but here it is: the first P&P Christmas inspiration board! This one is geared more towards home and holiday decor than a wedding — what do you think? The palette (what I’m calling eucalyptus, cream, and coral) is definitely different from your more standard red and green, but I think it could work in the right home, particularly if your year-round decorating palette is on the brighter side. The natural materials (raffia, wood, yarn, burlap) and seaside accents keep things interesting.
The Details
First row, left to right: living room from Better Homes and Gardens, bag from Brides, napkin from BHG
Second row: front door mittens and mantel display from BHG, Advent calendar
Third row: curly cake, stockings, and ornaments from BHG, wooden star garland from Paloma’s Nest
